How often to you send stuff to them?
When was the last time?
Are you just sending your teaching schedule or practical/mechanical information?
Are you sharing personal stuff?
Are you disclosing flaws and problems?
Are you telling stories?
What do they know about you?
Do they know your backstory?
Do they know how you got to be in the position you’re in?
Do they know who your “enemies” are?
Do they know what you stand for?
Do they know what you’re against?
Do you just show up when you have something to sell?
Do they look forward to hearing from you?
Do they respond?
Do they tell you their version of your story?
Are you welcome in their inbox?
Or are you just another unwanted guest?
Have you ever talked to a subscriber (that you don’t know in real life) on the phone? Have you ever asked if they want to?
Do you use a newsletter template with pretty header graphics and colors? Do you make sure to show them your fucking logo?
Or do you send “ugly emails?”
Do you spend more time on social media than you do interacting with the people on your list?
Do you think that’s a good idea?
Do you not send them stuff because you don’t want to “be annoying?”
Am I annoying?
Just curious.
I send a weekly email called the journal to my email subscribers. Really to create a conversation and to keep up with my writing. I enjoy the practice and clients seem to enjoy it. (I hope!)
