Dude, thanks. Replied to this in a full post. Short answer: I didn't notice the tone shift because I liked how it made me sound like a 'writer.' That was the red flag I missed. Writing that's aware of itself being writing is fucking obnoxious. The notebook fixed it because handwriting is too slow to perform.
