Is it because they’re a Mother?
Is it because they’re a yoga teacher?
Is it because they’re interested in health & fitness?
Is it because they’re over 40?
Is it because they’re a coach?
Is it because they’re pregnant?
Is it because of covid?
Is it because they like jiu-jitsu?
Is it because they're a runner?
Is it because they’re divorced?
Is it because they’re a ballerina?
Is it because they're like other people in your "niche?"
Why did you do what you did this morning?
Because you’re a parent who’s interested in personal development?
Or was it something else?
Do you know what caused you to do what you did?
Maybe you did what you did because it’s cold outside, your kid has the flu, and you’re going to be shopping for gifts all day?
Maybe this morning was the only time you could do it? 🤷🏻♂️
Did you even consider your marital status? Or your age? Or your job title?
(People don’t sign up because [niche]. Niches are for correlation. we want to find causation.)
Did you sign-up for this Substack because you’re a coach? Or because the New Year is coming and you want 2023 to be different?
Or was it something else?
Let me know in the comments.

Because YOU’RE different.
Because while I admittedly have to re-read (or re-listen to) what you say to translate your sense of (humor/satire/sarcasm) into understanding, you cause me to think.
Because I bet that those who think you come off like a pompous asshole that gives no fucks miss the entire point, miss your depth, and your heartfelt intention to help those who really want to make a difference in the world.
Because you’re so brilliant it’s intimidating and probably a tad lonely.
Because what you do offer I am a few stages away from embracing fully and I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night. He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
