You are a writer

That’s the job. I don’t care what you think you do. I don’t care if you’re a teacher, a coach, a therapist, a trainer, a consultant, an artist, an engineer, an attorney, or a mother.

The fact that you’re here, reading this email, tells me you’re a writer.

If you weren’t, you would have unsubscribed long ago.

If you want to help people, if you want to influence them, motivate them, inspire them — the most important activity you do is writing.

Writing is how we think, it’s how we teach, it’s how we discover what we should do, it’s how we generate ideas and insight, it’s how we sell things. It’s how everything begins.

Everything begins with writing. You’re a writer, I’m a writer.

What do writers do? They write. They make sentences. Every day.

They may not publish every day, but they make sentences every day. And they most certainly publish more than you have been lately.

You’re not a “content creator.” You’re not even a "creator.” Fuck that. Don’t be one of those people.

You may create content sometimes, but don’t be such a fucking simpleton.

Did you publish something? 

I’m not asking if you ‘posted’ something. 

I’m definitely not asking if you posted in your god damn Stories. For fuck sake, that does not count. Are you 13 years old?

Don’t ‘post.’ Publish.

Act like a professional. Do your job.
