I lied to you the other day. Kinda. I said I wasn’t doing this (writing every damn day) for you, but I had a sense it wasn’t true. If it were true, I wouldn’t spend as much time as I do trying to figure out what the hell you want from me. I started publishing every day one month ago today — and since then, I’ve spent dozens of hours on the phone talking to subscribers who respond with interesting questions or insights about what they’re getting out of reading these things.
Yes, I'm looking for permission to be the way I suspect I need to be. Not permission from an authority, and not "sure, you can be any way you want, no one's stopping you". It's more like I'm looking for a role model, someone who's successfully done what I'm trying to do, the way I want to do it.
