After I posted this response I got to one of my emails, I was like “shit, am I just doing the same thing I’m trying to get away from?”
It didn’t feel like it as I wrote it, but in the hours after I sent it, I did feel conflicted — just a little.
Then I got a few responses that were like “uhhh… I thought you said you were trying to not be this larger-than-life, grandiose persona anymore. Are you just bringing your IG thing here to substack?”
God dammit.
